Providing opportunity for students to thrive is key to their educational success, which is why Geary County Schools will be offering extended educational opportunities well into summer break.
For more information or to enroll a student in these summer opportunities, contact staff at the student’s respective school.
Summer opportunities will run from June 3, 2019, through June 21, 2019. The classes will be held each day from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and is meant for all incoming 1st through 5th-grade students. For more information on Middle School and High School opportunities contact Junction City Middle School, Fort Riley Middle School, or Junction City High School.
5th graders will have the opportunity to attend either Transition or Jump Start in July. Contact your school for more information.
Each elementary school will offer this opportunity, which is an expansion of past practices. Westwood Elementary is an exception. Westwood students can participate, but they will be bussed to Washington Elementary due to construction at their home school.
Food will be provided to students at the following times:
Grab and go breakfast from 8:00-8:30
Sack lunch for those who request from 11:30-12:00
Franklin, Washington, and Ware will offer full lunch programs.
The emphasis of these summer opportunities will be to set students up for success coming into the 2019-2020 school year.
